Thai California WOW off high, denies partner search

BANGKOK, March 30 (Reuters) - Shares in California WOW Xperience (CAWOW) CAWO.BK, Thailand's largest fitness centre operator, rose on Monday but were below the highs by midsession after it denied reports it was looking for a new partner.

Reports in several newspapers that it was in talks with potential partners had sent its stock up 90 percent since last Wednesday.

"I'm not aware of this," Eric Levine told Reuters.

"Somebody asked me about this the other day, but if I knew, I would have told you about it. All I can say is that our business is still going well during this time, although we're making some cost-cutting," Levine said.

CAWOW shares rose as much as 20 percent to a two-week high of 1.12 baht in early trade. At the midsession break they were up 8.6 percent at 1.01 baht, while the main Thai index .SETI was down 2.66 percent.
